Elevate Your Well-being with Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
What is HTMA?
It is a safe and non-invasive diagnostic test that measures the mineral content of your hair.
HTMA has been used successfully for over 30 years to detect underlying imbalances in the body that can lead to health problems. By analyzing hair samples, HTMA can provide a detailed insight into your overall nutritional status and trace mineral levels.
The results of an HTMA test are invaluable for those looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of their holistic wellness. The report from an HTMA test reveals more than just your mineral status. It opens up a window into your metabolic rate, energy levels, carbohydrate tolerance, stress response, and more.
It’s important to understand that the HTMA is not a diagnostic test.
Instead, we are using it as a screening tool, and combining it with health history, stress history, symptom assessment and a Nutritional Assessment. Pulling in all this information, along with the results of your HTMA, we can uncover opportunities to more deeply support your unique needs and develop a plan to optimize healing and maximize wellness.
What information does the HTMA provide?
Heavy Metal Toxicity: Through HTMA, we can identify an overexposure to heavy metals, as these toxic elements can be detected in hair tissues. This is critical in diagnosing and treating potential health problems associated with heavy metal exposure.
Mineral Deficiencies and Imbalances: HTMA is a powerful tool in detecting mineral deficiencies and imbalances that could be impacting your health. These imbalances can potentially interfere with optimal body functions and overall well-being.
Metabolic Rate: HTMA can provide key insights into whether your metabolic rate is slow or fast. This information is useful for understanding how efficiently your body converts food into energy, which can have implications for weight management and energy levels. Based on these results, dietary approaches are recommended
Protein Synthesis: HTMA can reveal imbalances in minerals involved in protein synthesis, offering insights into this critical bodily process.
Carbohydrate Tolerance & Blood Sugar Imbalances: HTMA can reveal imbalances that may suggest issues with carbohydrate tolerance and blood sugar regulation - key factors in conditions like diabetes and insulin resistance.
Adrenal Fatigue: HTMA can help determine adrenal fatigue by identifying levels of certain stress minerals. This can aid in understanding your body's response to stress and how it's impacting your overall health.
Thyroid Function: By identifying imbalances in minerals that impact thyroid hormone production, HTMA can provide insights into thyroid function, offering a more comprehensive view of your overall health.
Nervous System Imbalances: Minerals play a vital role in maintaining the health and function of the nervous system. HTMA can identify imbalances that may indicate nervous system stress or dysfunction.
Inflammation: HTMA can identify mineral imbalances that may contribute to inflammation, providing important clues to your body's inflammatory response.
Energy Levels: By analyzing key minerals involved in energy production, HTMA can give insights into your energy levels, helping you understand potential causes of fatigue or low energy.
Detoxification Ability: By analyzing the levels of certain minerals, HTMA can give insights nto your body's detoxification capacity. If your body is not effectively eliminating toxins, this can lead to health issues that can be addressed through detox programs.
Immune System Strength: Certain mineral imbalances detected by HTMA can indicate a compromised immune system. This information can be used to take steps to strengthen immunity and enhance your resistance to illness.
With this information, we can create a personalized wellness plan including dietary approaches to optimize your metabolic rate, lifestyle adjustments, and possibly supplement use that are tailored to your unique physiology.
HTMA not only aids in early detection of health issues but also contributes significantly to preventive healthcare, allowing you to take proactive steps towards achieving and maintaining optimal health.
Why Choose HTMA Over Regular Blood Draws:
Detailed Insights: HTMA gives a more comprehensive snapshot of your body's nutritional deficiencies.
Non-Invasive: Unlike blood draws, HTMA is a painless procedure that only requires a small sample of hair.
Longer Time Frame: While blood tests give information about your nutritional status over the past 24 hours, HTMA reveals data from the past three months.
How HTMA Works:
We collect a small hair sample from the scalp at the posterior neck. Samples can be obtained in the office if you are local, or we can ship the kit to your home with detailed instructions on how to obtain the sample.
The sample is then sent to a federally-approved laboratory.
The lab uses highly sophisticated detection equipment and methods to analyze the sample.
It takes approximately 2-3 weeks to get results back.
Once we receive your results, our team will reach out to schedule your consultation.
During your 90 minute consultation (in person or via zoom) we will co-create a wellness plan tailored to your unique needs.
Who Would Benefit:
HTMA is ideal for anyone wanting to take charge of their health, particularly those dealing with chronic issues like fatigue, stress, poor digestion, or low immunity.
The results of an HTMA test are invaluable for those looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of their holistic wellness.
The report from an HTMA test reveals more than just your mineral status. It opens up a window into your metabolic rate, energy levels, carbohydrate tolerance, stress response, and more.
